Assoc. Prof. Jana BLŠTÁKOVÁ, PhD.

ABOUT

 

Jana Blštáková is an Associate Professor and a member of the Department of Management in the Faculty of Business Management at the University of Economics in Bratislava. She specialises in human resource management, with a particular focus on digitalisation in HR and the transformation of workplaces through technology.

She has led several research projects and coordinated international research networks in the field of Human Resource Management (HRM) and is currently concentrating on AI-HI (Artificial Intelligence–Human Intelligence) collaboration within organisations and the development of AI-competent workplaces. Her academic work bridges theory and practice, with publications in areas such as competence development for digital transformation and people management in AI-competent organisations. As a teacher, she has participated in numerous visiting professor programmes abroad and maintains strong ties with international partner institutions through faculty exchanges, joint programmes, and collaborative teaching initiatives.

Her networking initiatives at the national and international levels include her role as vice-president of the Slovak Academic Association for People Management (SAAPM), as well as serving as a board member of the Consortium of International Double Degrees (CIDD), and acting as the national representative in the international HRM research network CRANET. In addition to her academic responsibilities, she holds accredited coaching training and integrates coaching principles into her mentoring and teaching. At her home institution, she has coordinated the development of the Mentoring Centre, which supports the personal and professional development of both students and academic staff.

Her work is characterised by a strong commitment to innovation in education and the promotion of international academic cooperation.

Assoc. Prof. Róbert HANÁK, PhD.

ABOUT

 

He is an Associate Professor at the University of Economics in Bratislava, Faculty of Business Management, Department of Information Management. He also brings over a decade of research expertise from the Institute of Experimental Psychology at the Slovak Academy of Sciences.

He has a proven track record in strategic project leadership across both corporate and scientific domains. As principal investigator, he successfully led multiple research projects—three VEGA and two KEGA—alongside active participation in over a dozen other grant-funded initiatives with a combined budget exceeding €1 million.

In his role as chief project manager, he spearheaded the development and execution of more than 70 projects funded by EU structural funds, Slovak state programs (e.g., Envirofond), and international mechanisms such as the Norwegian Financial Mechanism. These projects, valued at over €5 million, were all successfully contracted and delivered with the support of a 20-member cross-functional team.

A pioneer in data accessibility, he co-founded Slovakia’s most visited statistical platforms: statistikapspp.sk and openstatistika.sk, empowering research at educational institutions and data-driven decision-making for businesses.

With more than 100 peer-reviewed publications as a first author, his research has earned widespread recognition. He has been invited as a keynote speaker at several international conferences, including: 1. The International Conference on Decision Making for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (Czech Republic), 2. The COST Conference on Behavioral Science and Policy (Madrid, Spain)

He actively contributes to the international academic and professional community as a member of: 1. DART Research Network, Kingston University London, 2. European Council for Small Business and Entrepreneurship, 3. Society for Judgment and Decision Making, 4. European Association for Decision Making

He has also served on various scientific boards, including: 1. Institute of Experimental Psychology (2013–2017), 2. Faculty of Business Management, University of Economics in Bratislava (2022–present)

Currently, he serves as Chairman of the Academic Senate at the Faculty of Business Management.

Ing. Matej Černý, PhD.

ABOUT

 

He is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Business Management, Bratislava University of Economics and Business, Slovakia.

He teaches eBusiness and Social Media in Business and contributes to Business Information Systems and IT Governance courses. His primary research interests lie in artificial intelligence (AI), particularly its impact on individuals and businesses. Additional areas of his scientific focus include IT management and governance (with emphasis on ITIL and IT processes), digitalization, e-commerce, business information systems, and data analytics in management.

As a deputy project leader and investigator, he has actively participated in several national and international scientific and educational projects. He is currently engaged in global research examining respondents’ abilities to interact with AI technologies and is also involved in the EU NextGen research initiative. This project aims to empirically investigate the adoption of AI and its impact on enterprise performance, market dynamics, and policy development within the Slovak economy.

He is a member of the IT Service Management Forum (itSMF) Slovakia.

He has also gained valuable insights into contemporary trends in management and IT through professional study visits to China, Japan, South Africa, and Germany.

In addition to his academic work, he has extensive practical experience in IT company management. He was a consultant on various e-commerce, enterprise digitalization, and online marketing projects. Over the years, he has contributed to developing more than 100 web-based solutions across multiple applications, including e-learning platforms, commercial websites, e-shops, community portals, and survey tools.

He is the co-creator and administrator of openstatistika.sk, a portal dedicated to popularizing statistics in research.
